Maybe you're exhausted but can't switch off.
Maybe your mind seems to have a hundred tabs open all the time.
Maybe you've reached the point where you think, "I can't keep doing this."
Perhaps you've tried to change a habit before and ended up back where you started. Or you know you're capable of more, but something keeps holding you back.
And sometimes you can't even put your finger on what the problem is. You just know you don't feel like yourself anymore.
You don't have to arrive with everything figured out.
Hypnotherapy can give you a different way of looking at what's going on and, where appropriate, help you work with the thoughts, habits, emotions and patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I combine hypnotherapy with NLP and transformational coaching where it feels appropriate, tailoring sessions to you rather than following a rigid formula.
I work with a wide range of concerns, but there are three areas I'm particularly interested in helping people with.
You're functioning. But you're running on empty.
You get through the day because you have to.
You keep saying, "I'll slow down when things settle down."
But they don't.
You might be constantly tired, struggling to switch off, feeling irritable or overwhelmed, finding it difficult to concentrate, or simply wondering where the old you went.
Maybe you've become very good at holding everything together while quietly thinking:
We can explore the patterns around stress, pressure, expectations and the way you're responding to what's happening in your life.
The aim isn't to teach you to tolerate an impossible situation.
It's to help you understand what's happening and explore healthier ways of responding.
You've probably already thought about stopping. More than once.
Maybe you've tried before.
Maybe you made it a few days, a few weeks or even longer before something happened and you started again.
Perhaps you're fed up with the cigarettes.
Perhaps vaping was supposed to help you stop smoking and now you've found yourself vaping constantly instead.
Or maybe you're simply thinking:
"I don't want this to control me anymore."
Hypnotherapy can be used as part of a wider quit attempt to explore the habits, triggers, associations and thought patterns connected with smoking or vaping.
There are no magic buttons and I won't promise you that you'll never have another craving.
What I can offer is a supportive, personalised approach to help you work towards making a change.
If you're using nicotine replacement, medication or other cessation support, hypnotherapy can sit alongside appropriate healthcare advice rather than replace it.
Your brain won't shut up.
You replay conversations.
You think about what might happen.
Then you think about what might happen after that.
You know you're probably overthinking it, but knowing that doesn't seem to make your brain stop.
Maybe you're always waiting for something to go wrong.
Maybe you struggle to relax even when everything is actually okay.
Or perhaps you're simply tired of feeling stuck in the same thoughts and patterns.
You don't necessarily need someone to tell you that you're anxious.
You already know something isn't right.
We can look at the patterns behind the thoughts, behaviours and responses you're experiencing and work towards giving you more choice in how you respond.
These aren't the only things I work with.
Depending on your circumstances, hypnotherapy and coaching may also be helpful for:
š“ Sleep & switching off
When you're exhausted but your brain decides bedtime is the perfect opportunity to start solving every problem you've ever had.
š¦ Confidence & self-belief
When self-doubt has become louder than the part of you that knows you're capable.
š½ļø Habits & behaviours
When you know what you want to change but keep finding yourself doing the same thing.
š± Life changes & feeling stuck
When life has changed ā or you're ready for it to ā but you aren't quite sure what comes next.
šø Menopause-related wellbeing
When changes in sleep, confidence, stress levels or emotional wellbeing are making life feel rather different.
š Stress-related physical wellbeing
Where appropriate, we can explore the relationship between stress, thoughts, behaviours and how you're experiencing your body, alongside any medical care you're receiving.
If you're dealing with something that isn't listed here, that doesn't necessarily mean I can't help.
The easiest way to find out is to have a chat.
There isn't a standard script that gets pulled out of a drawer because you've said a particular word.
You're an individual, so your sessions need to make sense for you.
We'll talk about what's happening, what you'd like to be different and what may be getting in the way.
I'll explain what we're doing and why, so you never have to sit there wondering what's going on.
And despite what you've probably seen on television, you won't be unconscious, asleep or under somebody else's control.
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention that most people experience in everyday life in one form or another.
Some people notice a very relaxed feeling.
Some notice their thoughts becoming quieter.
Some feel deeply absorbed in the experience.
And some wonder afterwards, "Was I actually hypnotised?"
There's no right way to experience it.
Sessions are available online worldwide, as well as in person from my office in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
Online sessions can be just as personal and focused as working together face-to-face, and you can do them from somewhere you're comfortable and won't be interrupted.
You don't have to know exactly what's wrong before you get in touch.
Maybe you know what's bothering you. Maybe things just don't feel right and you can't quite put your finger on why.
Either is fine with me.
It's a chance for us to have a proper conversation ā online or in person ā and see if we're a good fit.
You can share as much or as little as you like. I'll listen, ask a few questions and get a feel for what's going on and how I may be able to support you.
And I'll be honest with you.
If I think I can help, I'll tell you how. If I think you'd be better off seeing someone else or taking a different route first, I'll tell you that too.
Once we've chatted, the ball is entirely in your court. I won't chase you for a decision or hound your inbox.
It's your life. It's your call.
