You’re still doing everything you need to do.
You’re getting up. Going to work. Looking after people. Answering messages. Keeping things moving.
But you're exhausted.
And underneath all the “I'm fine” and “I'll deal with it later”, there’s a little voice saying:
“I can't keep doing this.”
Maybe your mind won't switch off.
Maybe you're snapping at people more than you'd like.
Maybe things that used to be manageable now feel completely overwhelming.
Maybe you can't remember the last time you genuinely relaxed.
Or perhaps you're functioning perfectly well from the outside, while privately wondering how long you can keep this up.
Stress doesn't always look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like getting through the day and collapsing on the sofa afterwards.
Sometimes it’s lying awake because your brain has decided that 2am is an excellent time to go through everything you haven't done yet.
Sometimes it's constantly thinking about the next thing.
Sometimes it's feeling guilty when you rest.
And sometimes it's simply waking up already feeling tired.
You may find yourself thinking:
“I'll slow down when things settle down.”
But there always seems to be something else.
Work
Family
Money
Responsibilities
Other people's needs
Another thing to sort out
So you keep going.
Until you realise that keeping going has become the problem.
You don't need to reach some imaginary point where you're “stressed enough” to ask for help.
You might simply know that something needs to change.
Maybe you're tired of feeling permanently switched on.
Maybe you want to be able to relax without feeling guilty.
Maybe you want your patience back.
Maybe you want to sleep properly.
Maybe you just want to feel like you again.
There isn't a magic list of things you have to tick.
We might look at:
Why you feel you always need to be doing something — and what happens when you try to stop.
The mental noise, endless planning and overthinking that follows you into your evenings and sometimes into the night.
Finding it difficult to say no, take time for yourself or stop taking responsibility for everything.
The beliefs and habits that make slowing down feel uncomfortable, selfish or simply impossible.
Getting caught in “what if?”, replaying conversations or mentally preparing for every possible problem.
When even small things start to feel like one thing too many.
Making room for the person underneath all the responsibility, pressure and expectations.
This is important.
If you're in a situation that genuinely needs to change, I'm not going to tell you to simply become better at coping with it.
Sometimes circumstances need to change.
Sometimes boundaries need to change.
Sometimes the way you respond to what's happening needs to change.
And sometimes it's a mixture of all three.
You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to work on.
And you don't need to have everything neatly explained.
We can have a proper conversation about what's going on and whether I feel I can help.
I'll be honest with you.
If I think hypnotherapy could be useful, I'll explain how.
If I think you'd be better off taking a different route or getting additional support first, I'll tell you that too.
No pressure.
No sales pitch.
No being chased afterwards.
